Manaslu Trek is a fantastic combination of adventure and spirituality together in one package. It is very different from than Everest base camp trek and Annapurna circuit trek and possibly the best trekking in Nepal. Manaslu Trek Itinerary is flexible with the requirement of trekkers. However, trekkers should decide how long days they want to visit the Manaslu region. Because it is a restricted region and it requires a special permit to trek to Manaslu.

The general itinerary of the Manaslu circuit trek is 16 and 17 days trek because it will have the required number of days to acclimatize to the high altitude and so on. 17 days trek includes acclimatization of 2 days – one day in Samagaon and another day in Samdo.  Basically, Manaslu trek itinerary can be as short as 10 days and could be lengthened to 22-24 days.

If you choose an itinerary as short as 14 days, then you should walk at least 7-9 hours per day. In addition, you will not have sufficient acclimatization days; while if you want to do 10 days trek, then you only trek around lower Manaslu. At least 14 days itinerary is required for the Manaslu circuit trek.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is also known as Around Manaslu Trek, encircles the world’s 8th highest peak Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m), and crosses one of the highest passes of the mountain – Larkya La Pass (5125 m).

Lower Manaslu Trek Itinerary 10 Days

Lower Manaslu Trek covers some lower parts of the Manaslu region including the historical Gorkha palace and Barpak village – the epicenter of 2015’s devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9. The trek passes through some villages with walking as well as jeep driving.

Manaslu Trek Itinerary 14 Days

Certainly, the 14-day itinerary for the Manaslu trek is suitable for many travelers as many of them plan for short days’ trips during their vacations and holiday.

On the first day, you move toward Soti Khola with a 6 to 7 hours long drive just passing by Arughat. Arughat is a small rural town from where the Manaslu trek starts. But, nowadays trek to Manaslu generally begins from Soti Khola because road construction is going on in between Aarughat and Soti Khola. So, no one wants to walk through a raw muddy road.

There are 2 acclimatization days available to endure the high altitude sickness. You will stay in Samagaon and Samdo and have some side trips. You can go to the Manaslu Base Camp (4,800m) and visit the Tibetan border.

On the 11th day, you will cross Larkya Pass (5120 m) reaching a village called Bhimtang. Then, after the next 2 days, you will be at Tal. Here you will take a bus and drive back to Kathmandu. Crossing Larkya Pass might be one of the most extreme parts of this trek as it is the highest point of the Manaslu Trek. You have to make continuous 8-9 hours walk passing by frozen ice and rocky terrain.
