Many trekkers are interested in the current state of road construction in the Manaslu region to avoid the dusty and muddy paths. Follow us for the latest updates on road development in the area.
A few years ago, reaching the Manaslu trek involved walking from Aarughat. Improvements have since made it possible to drive to Soti Khola to start your trek. Currently, the road extends to Machha Khola, though direct access is challenging. You can drive to Lububeshi, which is situated between Machha Khola and Soti Khola, and then walk 3-4 hours from Soti Khola to Machha Khola.
This means you can complete a day-long journey from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, including a 7-hour drive to Lububeshi followed by a 3-4 hour walk to Machha Khola.
Update: You can now drive directly from Kathmandu to Machha Khola by jeep, skipping the trek from Soti Khola if you wish. For those who prefer the traditional route, trekking from Soti Khola is still an option. In fact, jeeps can even reach Jagat during the dry season, though this is generally not possible in summer due to road conditions.
